Ben Stein

Ben Stein is the most famous economics teacher in America. His comedic role as the droning economics teacher in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" is by far the most widely viewed scene of economics teaching in economics history and has been ranked as one of the fifty most famous scenes in movie history. In real life, Stein is a prominent speaker on economics, politics, education, history, and motivation—much like his father, Herbert Stein, who was renowned for his expertise on political economy.

Stein has a bachelor's degree with honors in economics from Columbia University, studied economics at the graduate level at Yale, and is a graduate of Yale Law School, where he was elected valedictorian of his class in 1970. He brings a wealth of knowledge and an engaging presentation style that highlights significant trends and topics in current history.

Stein has authored or co-authored approximately 30 books on various subjects, including investing and economic theory. Among these, "Yes, You Can Time The Market," co-written with Phil DeMuth, is recognized as a significant work on securities market analysis using price theory. Stein's tenure as a columnist for The New York Times, from roughly 2004-2009, allowed him to discuss economics extensively.
