Ben Stiller

Ben Stiller is an actor, comedian, and filmmaker recognized for his roles in comedic and dramatic films. He embarked on his career in television, writing and directing short films that led to his Emmy-Award-winning sketch comedy series, "The Ben Stiller Show," in 1993. Since the mid-2010s, Stiller has predominantly worked as a television showrunner, leaving a remarkable mark in the industry.

Stiller's film career escalated in the late 1990s with roles in successful comedies such as "There’s Something About Mary," "Meet the Parents," and "Zoolander," the latter of which he also co-wrote and directed. He also starred in franchise films like the "Madagascar" and the first three "Night at the Museum" films. In 2018, he directed the Showtime limited series "Escape at Dannemora," earning a Directors Guild of America Award and two Primetime Emmy Award nominations. In 2022, he served as a director and executive producer on the Apple TV+ series "Severance," securing two Primetime Emmy Award nominations.

Apart from his notable work in comedies, Stiller has demonstrated his prowess in tackling more dramatic roles and directing projects. Films like "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty," which he starred in and directed, and "Tropic Thunder," a satirical commentary on the film industry, have been acclaimed by both critics and audiences. On the horizon, Stiller has signed on to co-write and direct "Bag Man," a movie adaptation of a 2018 podcast, and will have his first lead role in a project in 7 years with "Nutcrackers."

Outside his acting and directing, Stiller is also involved in various humanitarian activities. He was appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, on July 2, 2018, and he visited Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv in June 2022 to highlight the humanitarian needs of refugees in Poland and Ukraine.
