Bill Geist

Bill Geist is an Emmy Award-winning correspondent and commentator for CBS News, contributing to "CBS Sunday Morning," "CBS Evening News," and "60 Minutes." His insightful work extends to CBS Sports productions, where he has offered commentary for events including the 1992, 1994, and 1998 Olympic Winter Games, several Super Bowl games, NCAA Final Four Basketball tournaments, and the World Series.

Geist is the bestselling author of six books: "Fore! Play"; "The Big Five Oh: Facing, Fearing and Fighting 50"; "Monster Trucks and Hair In A Can - Who Says America Doesn't Make Anything Anymore?"; the New York Times bestseller "Little League Confidential"; "The Zucchini Plague and Other Tales of Suburbia"; and "City Slickers." He has written for a variety of magazines including New York magazine, Forbes, Rolling Stone, Vogue, and Esquire. His career in journalism began at The New York Times, where he penned the "About New York" column twice a week from 1980 to 1987, before which he served as a reporter and columnist for The Chicago Tribune from 1972 to 1980.

Before his illustrious career in journalism, Geist served as a combat photographer with the First Infantry Division in Vietnam. He has earned numerous accolades for his work across different media, showcasing his unique blend of humor and insightful commentary. Geist holds a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Illinois, awarded in 1968, and a Master's degree in communications from the University of Missouri, obtained in 1971. He currently lives in New York City with his wife, Jody, and their two children, Willie and Libby.
