Brock Purdy

Brock Purdy, a quarterback celebrated for his record-breaking performances, began his career at Iowa State University. He set 32 school records during his tenure and was twice honored as First-team All-Big 12 (2020, 2021). His college career featured 14 games with over 300 passing yards, almost triple the previous school record. Additionally, he led the Big 12 Conference in passing yards with 3,982 in 2019 and contributed to four consecutive winning seasons for the Iowa State football program, a feat not achieved since 1923–1927. In the 2020 Fiesta Bowl, Purdy demonstrated his diverse skill set, both passing and rushing for touchdowns in a 34–17 victory over Oregon.

Despite being the final pick in the 2022 NFL draft, earning him the title of "Mr. Irrelevant," Purdy's career with the San Francisco 49ers has been anything but. After injuries to other players, he was named the starting quarterback for the 49ers in 2022, quickly making his mark by becoming the first "Mr. Irrelevant" to throw a touchdown pass in a regular season NFL game. In his first career start, he defeated a team led by Tom Brady, another testament to his ability. Purdy's achievements continued with his selection to the PFWA All-Rookie Team and becoming the first 49ers rookie quarterback to start and win a playoff game. He also set a franchise record for passing yards in a single season.

Continuing as the starting quarterback in 2023, Purdy led the 49ers to another division title and an appearance in Super Bowl LVIII. His performance included achieving a perfect passer rating of 158.3 in a game against the Buccaneers and surpassing 4,000 passing yards in a season, a first for a 49ers quarterback since Jeff Garcia in 2000. He was selected as the NFC's starting quarterback for the 2024 Pro Bowl Games and was named the NFL annual passer rating leader in 2023. Despite the 49ers' overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII, Purdy's performance was distinguished by his completion of 23-of-38 passes for 255 yards and a touchdown. In 2024, he became the fastest quarterback in 46ers franchise history to achieve 50 career touchdown passes.
