Caroline Baron

Caroline Baron is an award-winning producer known for her impactful work in both film and television, as well as her philanthropic efforts through FilmAid International. She produced the Oscar-nominated film "Capote" and the cross-cultural hit "Monsoon Wedding," which garnered the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.

Baron's career began as the production manager on the cult classic "The Toxic Avenger." Her diverse portfolio includes roles as the associate producer for the television series "The Wonder Years" and co-producer of films such as "Center Stage," "Flawless," and "Addicted to Love." Notably, she also executive produced "Being Flynn," featuring Julianne Moore and Robert De Niro, and produced the Golden Globe-winning "Mozart in the Jungle." She co-produced the documentary "Preston Sturges: The Rise and Fall of an American Dreamer" for PBS.

Beyond her production achievements, Baron founded FilmAid International in 1999, a nonprofit that assists refugees through films that educate and inform on critical issues. She also founded A-Line Pictures in 2005 and co-founded Yummico, a children's media company. Currently, she is an Assistant Arts Professor at NYU’s Tisch School of Undergraduate Film and Television. Baron’s numerous awards include an Independent Spirit Producers Award for "Capote," an Emmy for "The Wonder Years," and the Vision Producer of Excellence Award for "Capote." She has received an honorary Doctorate of Letters from Chapman University and an alumni achievement award from Brandeis University in 2008.
