Caroline Marchal

Caroline Marchal is best known as the founder and creative director of INTERIOR/NIGHT, an independent video game developer based in London. Since its inception in November 2017, Marchal has steered the company towards a focus on interactive storytelling, a skill she had honed during her previous tenure at Quantic Dream. Marchal has previous experience as a lead game designer on critically acclaimed games such as "Heavy Rain" and "Beyond: Two Souls."

Under Marchal's leadership, INTERIOR/NIGHT debuted with the release of "As Dusk Falls" in July 2022. The game is a multi-generational story set in the Arizona desert in 1999 and has received positive reviews from notable gaming publications such as IGN, GameSpot, Eurogamer, and others. In 2022, the game won the "Games for Impact" award at The Game Awards, further establishing Marchal's reputation in the field of interactive storytelling.

Marchal's career in the gaming industry has been marked by notable successes. "Heavy Rain," a game she worked on during her time at Quantic Dream, sold over 7 million copies and won the Game of the Year award from IGN and GameSpy, along with the BAFTA award for Best Story and the DICE award for Outstanding Innovation in Gaming. "Beyond: Two Souls", also a product of her time at Quantic Dream, starred celebrities Elliot Page and Willem Dafoe, and sold over 3 million copies.
