Caroline Webb

Caroline Webb is CEO of Sevenshift, a firm that shows people how to use insights from behavioral science to improve their working life. Her book "How to Have a Good Day: Harness the Power of Behavioral Science to Transform Your Working Life" has been published in 14 languages and more than 60 countries. She is also a Senior Advisor at McKinsey, where she was previously a partner and co-founded the firm's leadership practice. She designed McKinsey's approach to transforming senior team dynamics and improving personal effectiveness, and remains faculty of the firm's flagship leadership development course for senior female executives.

Webb's book was recognized by Forbes as a "must-read business book," by Fortune as one of the top "self-improvement through data" books, and by Inc. magazine as one of the "best 15 leadership and personal development books of the past five years." She blends her experience in management consulting with her training as a coach, combining pragmatic work to strengthen her clients' handling of professional issues with deeper personal work to enable them to achieve their goals in a more sustainable and inspiring way. An economist by background, Webb makes extensive use of behavioral science to help her clients discover how to be at their best—and how to bring the best out of their colleagues in turn.

During her 12 years at McKinsey, Webb specialized in helping organizations shift their culture in more positive directions. Webb spent the 1990s working in public policy as an economist at the Bank of England, where her work included authorship of the prestigious Inflation Report, global economic forecasting, and institution building in post-communist Europe. She is a founding fellow of the Harvard-affiliated Institute of Coaching and has degrees in economics from Cambridge and Oxford Universities. Her work has been featured in The Economist, The Financial Times, The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Guardian, Inc., Forbes, Fortune, and BBC Radio. She contributes to Harvard Business Review and has written for the World Economic Forum, Fast Company, Quartz, Business Insider, Huffington Post, and Wired.
