Cassandra Boness, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in substance use and substance use disorders, with a particular focus on alcohol. Her research is driven by the goals of reducing harm and improving well-being for individuals who use substances. She is particularly interested in exploring the individual and contextual factors that contribute to and sustain substance use. Currently, her research program, funded by a National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism career development award, is dedicated to developing research-based assessments of these factors through community-engaged approaches, with the overarching goal of enhancing treatment outcomes for all individuals.
