Chris Marve Biography
Chris Marve is in his third season as the Defensive Coordinator of the Virginia Tech Hokies.
Marve is viewed as one of the top up-and-coming coaches of this generation. He was first hired as Virginia Tech’s Defensive Coordinator when he was 32 years old, which made him the youngest coordinator in the ACC and one of the youngest in all of college football at the time.
Before being hired at Virginia Tech, Marve served as the defensive run game coordinator and linebackers coach at Florida State for two years. He held that same role the year before at Mississippi State, and before that he coached at Vanderbilt – his alma mater – which is where he started his coaching career.
In college, Marve was a four-time All-SEC linebacker at Vanderbilt. He served as captain of the team his junior and senior year, and is statistically one of the best linebackers to ever put on a Commadores uniform.
Marve grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. He is married to his wife, Lauren, and they have two daughters.
