Claudia Chwalisz Biography
Claudia Chwalisz is an author, activist, and entrepreneur. She is the founder and CEO of DemocracyNext, a non-partisan international research and action institute working to shift power to new democratic institutions that are anchored in citizen participation, sortition (representation by lottery), and deliberation - like Citizens’ Assemblies. Claudia co-designed the first permanent Citizens’ Assemblies in Paris, Ostbelgien & Brussels. She co-leads the Pop-up Lab on Tech-Enhanced Citizens’ Assemblies, a joint initiative of DemocracyNext and the MIT Center for Constructive Communication, and is on the Global Advisory Council of The Data Tank. Previously, she led the OECD's work on Innovative Citizen Participation.
