Craig Counsell Biography
Craig Counsell has been the manager of the Milwaukee Brewers since 2015. In 2018, the Brewers had their best season under Counsell, winning the National League Central Division and advancing to the NL Central. He won NL Manager of the Year in 2017 after Milwaukee made a 13-game improvement. Counsell has been close to the organization ever since his retirement from a 15-year playing career. Counsell served as a special assistant in the front office to the general manager and also spent some time broadcasting for the Brewers radio station.
On the field, he spent time with the Colorado Rockies, Florida Marlins, Los Angeles Dodgers, Arizona Diamondbacks and Milwaukee. The highlights of his career both occurred in the postseason for the Word Series champion Marlins in 1997 and Diamondbacks in 2001. He scored the winning run of the Fall Classic for Florida and was named NLCS MVP for Arizona.
