Cristela Alonzo

Cristela Alonzo made TV history by being the first Latina to create, produce, and star in a network TV sitcom, "Cristela," an achievement which caps a whirlwind year. She was also the first Latina to star in a Disney Pixar movie, where she appeared as Cruz Ramirez in "Cars 3."

She released her first stand-up special "Lower Classy" on Netflix in January 2017. Alonzo's memoir, "Music to My Years: A Mixtape-Memoir of Growing Up and Standing Up," was published in October 2019 by Atria Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster. The memoir release was accompanied by a stand-up tour called "My Affordable Care Act." She continues to engage her audience through her podcast "To Be Continued," where she combines sketch comedy with social commentary.

Aside from her work in entertainment, Alonzo focuses on advocacy, addressing issues related to immigration, citizenship, and economic opportunity. She has appeared in various media outlets including NPR, the Chicago Tribune, and ABC News. Her commitment to community service is evident through her involvement with numerous organizations including Special Olympics Texas, People for the United Way, and Planned Parenthood. She also serves as an advisory board member for Define American. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, she performed at the Tobin Center in San Antonio, delivering a stand-up-style keynote, a Q&A session, and a book signing event.

Alonzo is based in LA and, when not on tour, can be found performing at various clubs around town, including her home club, the Comedy & Magic Club in Hermosa Beach, CA.
