Danica Mckellar

Actress, author, producer, and speaker Danica McKellar was first introduced as Winnie Cooper on the iconic television classic “The Wonder Years.” McKellar is known for her roles in various television films for the Hallmark Channel, including the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries series "The Matchmaker Mysteries." She has lent her voice to characters in animations like "Static Shock," "Young Justice," and "DC Super Hero Girls," and video games such as "X-Men Legends." She joined the main cast of the Netflix series "Project Mc2" in 2015. Moreover, she currently recurs on the ABC comedy “Home Economics” and starred in, and executive produced the romantic comedy The Winter Palace on the GAC Family network. She currently appears as a judge on Fox’s new reality competition series “Domino Masters."

McKellar graduated Summa cum Laude from the University of California, Los Angeles, with a degree in Mathematics. She not only contributed original research proving a new math theorem, dubbed “The Chayes-McKellar-Winn Theorem,” but also coauthored a scientific paper titled "Percolation and Gibbs states multiplicity for ferromagnetic Ashkin–Teller models." Her collaborative work on research papers gives her an Erdős number of four and an Erdős–Bacon number of six. She testified before Congress about the importance of women in math and science and was recognized for her contributions to mathematics education with the Joint Policy Board for Mathematics (JPBM) Communications Award in 2014.

Now a New York Times bestselling author, McKellar's series of math-related books includes "Math Doesn't Suck," "Kiss My Math," and "Girls Get Curves." Her first book, "Math Doesn't Suck," was named a New York Times bestseller. Her books aim to teach kids and teens how to master tough mathematical concepts in the context of fun stories. "The Times Machine," which teaches multiplication, was named a “2020 Amazon Book of the Year,” and her 11th book, “Double Puppy Trouble,” hit the shelves in July 2022. To date, McKellar’s books have sold over 2 million copies worldwide.
