Daniel Germain

Daniel Germain, a Canadian philanthropist and founder of the Breakfast Club of Canada, has long been a driving force behind initiatives aimed at assisting underprivileged children. Growing up in a disadvantaged neighborhood, Germain's experiences fueled his determination to combat child poverty. His organization promotes and supports the establishment of school breakfast programs across the nation. In 2005, this initiative was recognized by the United Nations for being among the best school meal programs globally.

Throughout his career, Germain has been acknowledged for his significant contributions to social entrepreneurship and philanthropy. He has been honored with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and the Quebec YMCA Peace Medal. Further solidifying his impact, Germain is a Member of the Order of Canada and a Knight of the Ordre national du Québec. His work extends beyond national borders through various collaborations with leading corporations, including McDonald's, Walmart, Staples, Cirque De Soleil, and Coca-Cola.

Recently, Germain has expanded his efforts to a global scale with the upcoming launch of the Children’s Hour World Campaign on November 20, 2023. This new initiative aims to address critical issues such as global child poverty, climate change, food insecurity, and the challenges faced by young girls, women, and Indigenous peoples. Through these efforts, Germain continues to enact change and inspire action worldwide, leveraging his experience and network to improve the lives of children everywhere.
