Darnell Lamont Walker

Darnell Lamont Walker is a television writer, content creator, filmmaker, healer, and death doula. His career in entertainment is marked by a diverse array of roles, from directing and producing social impact documentaries such as "Seeking Asylum," "Outside the House," and "Set Yourself on Fire," to writing for children's television shows like "Face's Music Party," "Blue's Clues & You!" and "Karma's World," for which he earned an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Writing for an Animated Program.

Walker has self-published a children's book titled "The Most Beautiful Thing in the World" and joined renowned initiatives like the Sesame Street Writers Room Fellowship. He has led workshops across the world, including in South Africa, the United Kingdom, Bali, and Brazil, energizing and inspiring attendees to show up for themselves through one of his signature lessons on unblocking creativity, journaling, and the healing effects of writing. Additionally, he speaks on heavier hitting topics such as mental health in the Black community and ethical filmmaking.

Outside of his creative endeavors, Walker realized his work -- artistically and in the wellness space -- leads people toward healing and happiness. His goal is to continue to support communities around the world through the building of safe spaces where these two things can expand. This includes his work as a death doula, assisting in end-of-life care and the dying process in homes and hospice.

Walker's life embodies a spirit of adventure, exploration, and constant learning and consistently shows a commitment to representation, community, and the power of narrative to effect change. His academic accomplishments include a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science from Bethune-Cookman University, and a PhD in Communication and Culture from Howard University.
