David Siegel Biography
David Siegel is co-chairman of Two Sigma. He has had a lifelong interest in building intelligent computational systems and actively pursues this mission at the company. Before co-founding Two Sigma, Siegel was chief technology officer and managing director at Tudor Investment Corp. After earning his doctorate, Siegel joined D.E. Shaw & Co. and rose to become the company's first chief information officer. While at D.E. Shaw, he founded and served as president of FarSight Financial Services, the world's first integrated personal financial services website, later acquired by Merrill Lynch. Siegel is a trustee of Carnegie Hall, sits on the boards of the Code-to-Learn Foundation and NYC FIRST and is an executive advisory committee member of the NSF/MIT Center for Brains, Minds and Machines. He is a graduate of Princeton University and received a Ph.D. in computer science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he studied at its Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.
