Debra Christofferson

Debbie’s leadership experience includes 20+ years as a global IT and Security Manager. She’s culturally diverse with international Fortune 500 experience at Intel Corporation, across the US, Europe and Asia. Debbie was a security manager with the Apollo Group, and currently supports the ISO community across agencies for the State of Arizona as an information security consultant. Debbie leads a statewide Enterprise Security & Privacy Governance Committee. She’s a long time security professional who knows how to create a successful security program, and to lead ISSA. She understands the profession and member needs.

Debbie led Phoenix ISSA as Chapter President 2006-2010, and served four previous years as Program Director. She was instrumental in the chapter’s growth and success, including attracting a strong board. This chapter quadrupled membership and attendance in that 8-year period, and was awarded Chapter of the Year in 2010.

Debbie is currently a Director of the ISSA International Board, serving out four years with this election cycle, for back-to-back two-year terms. She chairs ISSA’s CISO Advisory Council. ISSA recognized Debbie as a Distinguished Fellow in October.

Debbie actively supports our security community, through speaking, writing, informal mentoring, and leading CISM exam preparation workshops for Phoenix ISACA since its inception. Debbie is a relationship builder, who builds our community one person and one day at a time. She is an advocate of women in technology and it shows in the makeup of Phoenix chapter attendance.
