Diamond Stylz

Diamond Stylz is a millennial Black trans activist and the Executive Director of Black Trans Women Inc., a national non-profit that is led by Black trans women and focused on social advocacy, positive visibility, and building strong leadership among Black trans advocates, activists, and allies. They host an annual empowerment conference with trans-specific programming that draws people from the U.S. and internationally. Stylz activism started when she was 17 when she won a First Amendment rights lawsuit against the Indianapolis Public School system. Winning the case allowed Stylz to go to prom in a gender-affirming gown instead of a tuxedo. Additionally, at 19, she was the first openly trans woman to attend the legendary HBCU Jackson State University, where she honed her passion for activism and learned how to maneuver in environments not accepting of trans people.

In addition to her position as Executive Director, Stylz is also the producer and creator of the "Marsha's Plate" podcast. The podcast is hosted by three Black trans people exploring pop culture, current events, and their problematic nemesis from a Black trans-feminist lens. At the time of its creation in 2017, it was one of the only podcasts hosted and produced by Black trans people. Stylz is also a board member of the Transgender Law Center, the largest national trans-led organization advocating for a world in which all people are free to define themselves and their futures. Stylz is also a board member of the Transgender District and A Call to Men.
