Diana Taurasi

Diana Taurasi is an American professional basketball player for the Phoenix Mercury of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She is known for her ability to score in crucial situations, a trait that led to her being nicknamed "White Mamba" by Kobe Bryant. Her performances have seen her compared to some of the greatest names in basketball, including Michael Jordan.

Since being drafted first overall in the 2004 WNBA draft by the Phoenix Mercury, Taurasi's career has been marked with numerous accolades. These include three WNBA championships in 2007, 2009, and 2014, two WNBA Finals MVP Awards in 2009 and 2014, and one WNBA MVP Award in 2009. She is also a ten-time selection to the WNBA All-Star teams and has been named to the All-WNBA First Team ten times. In addition to her domestic success, Taurasi has represented the United States internationally, winning an unprecedented six Olympic gold medals in 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020, and 2024, as well as three FIBA World Cups in 2010, 2014, and 2018.

Off the court, Taurasi has a strong presence in the sports industry as a public speaker. She is married to former teammate Penny Taylor, and they have two children. Additionally, she made appearances in the film "Space Jam: A New Legacy" and on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon".
