Doug Marrone Biography
Doug Marrone is an American football coach and former professional football offensive lineman who is currently the head coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the NFL. Marrone was born in Bronx, New York, and he began his career first playing football in high school before going on to play college football at Syracuse University where he was a three-year letterman. Marrone went on to be selected in the sixth round of the NFL draft by the Los Angeles Raiders but didn’t make the roster. He then went on to be picked up by the Miami Dolphins and then played for the New Orleans Saints and then the London Monarchs of the World League of American Football where he helped them to win the World Bowl. Marrone then turned to coaching and began coaching with Cortland State as a tight ends coach. Since then, he’s gone on to work with the Coast Guard, Northeastern as an offensive line coach, and then worked at Georgia Tech as a tight ends coach and then an offensive line coach. Marrone has also worked at Tennessee as a tight ends coach and offensive tackles coach, has been the offensive line coach for the New York Jets, the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach for New Orleans Saints, and head coach for Syracuse and then Buffalo Bills.
