Doug Ulman

Doug Ulman, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Pelotonia, a charity bike ride in Columbus, Ohio, leads with a strong commitment to cancer research. The event has impressively raised over $61 million in its first five years. Prior to this role, he was the President and CEO of the LIVESTRONG Foundation, where he guided the strategic vision and direction of the organization. Ulman, a three-time cancer survivor and a globally recognized advocate for cancer, co-founded the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults to provide essential support, education, and connections to young adults affected by cancer and their families.

During his tenure at LIVESTRONG, Ulman served as director of survivorship after initially joining in 2001. His leadership and services have been widely recognized; he has been honored with numerous awards including the Health Care Hero Award from the Austin Business Journal and inclusion in the Non-Profit Times' Power and Influence Top 50 twice. Notably, Ulman’s adept use of social media to promote cancer awareness earned him the title of the "Most Savvy Health Care Leader in Social Media." His engaging presence at various significant conferences and festivals, such as the Social Good Summit, the Inc. 500|5000 Conference, the Aspen Ideas Festival, the Clinton Global Initiative University, TedxAustin, and SXSW Interactive, underscores his influence and commitment to the cancer advocacy community.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Ulman leads an active lifestyle that includes participating in over 13 marathons, such as the challenging 100-mile ultramarathon in the Himalayan Mountains. He is also an avid reader, golfer, and enjoys traveling. Ulman values the time he spends with his wife and daughter, cherishing the moments away from his professional responsibilities. Additionally, he holds several civic and charitable board positions, exemplified by his roles with the Union for International Cancer Control and the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, highlighting his ongoing commitment to both global and community health issues.
