Drew Sullivan Biography
Drew Sullivan is a journalist and development specialist who founded the Center for Investigative Reporting in Bosnia-Herzegovina in 2004 where he served as editor, director, and board president. He co-founded the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Program, a regional consortium of 22 investigative centers, where he now serves as editor. He founded the Journalism Development Network, an innovative media development organization with programs worldwide. As a journalist, he led a team of reporters looking at corruption by the Bosnian prime minister which led to his eventual indictment and resignation.
His work has been awarded the Daniel Pearl Award (twice), the Online Journalism Award for investigative reporting (twice), the Global Shining Light Award (twice), the Tom Renner award for Crime Reporting (twice) and dozens of others. He worked as an investigative reporter for the Tennessean newspaper and the Associated Press. He has served on the boards of Investigative Reporters and Editors and the National Institute for Computer Assisted Reporting. Before becoming a journalist, he was a professional stand-up comedian and an aerospace engineer on the Space Shuttle Project.
