Eugene Hernandez is the Director of the Sundance Film Festival and the Head of Public Programming at the Sundance Institute. Before joining Sundance in 2022, he served as the Deputy Executive Director of the Film Society of Lincoln Center, where he was instrumental in overseeing the prestigious New York Film Festival for 12 years.
Hernandez also co-founded IndieWire in 1996, an influential platform for independent film news, reviews, and industry insights. His work at IndieWire helped establish it as a vital resource for filmmakers and cinephiles alike, earning him recognition as a key figure in independent cinema.
