Eve

Eve is a Grammy Award-winning rapper, singer, songwriter, and actress who first rose to prominence in the late 1990s as a significant female voice in the primarily male world of hip-hop. Eve initially gained recognition through her collaborations with the rap group Ruff Ryders, which included artists such as DMX and Swizz Beatz. Her unique style, combining potent lyrics with a melodious delivery, differentiated her from her contemporaries and rapidly positioned her as one of the leading female rappers of the time.

In 1999, Eve released her debut album, "Let There Be Eve...Ruff Ryders' First Lady," which made its debut at number one on the Billboard 200, making her the third female rapper in history to achieve this feat. The success of the album was propelled by hit singles like "Gotta Man" and "Love is Blind," the latter highlighting Eve's capacity to address serious topics like domestic violence. Her subsequent albums, "Scorpion" and "Eve-Olution," secured her position in the industry. "Who’s That Girl?" and "Let Me Blow Ya Mind," a collaboration with Gwen Stefani, earned Eve a Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration in 2002, one of her signature hits.

Not only limited to her music career, Eve has also established herself as a successful actress and television personality. She starred in her self-titled sitcom, "Eve," which ran from 2003 to 2006, and appeared in various films, including "Barbershop" and its sequels. She expanded her talents by joining the daytime talk show "The Talk" as a co-host from 2017 to 2020, where she was commended for her candid discussions on a myriad of social issues. Notably, she has also been depicted in different forms of media including the film "The Last Eve."

Apart from her artistic accomplishments, Eve is a philanthropist and advocate for several social causes, particularly those affecting women and children. She has supported initiatives related to domestic abuse awareness, animal rights, and education. Her memoir, "Who's That Girl?" released in 2024 and gives an in-depth look into her life and career, as well as her journey to motherhood.
