Gabe Kapler

Gabe Kapler, also known as “Kap,” is an American former professional baseball outfielder who played in the MLB and is currently the manager of the MLB team, the San Francisco Giants. Kapler was born in Hollywood, California, and he began his career playing baseball in high school where he played shortstop, second and third base and also played for the Woodland Hills East American Legion team. After graduating from high school, Kapler went on to play baseball for Cal State-Fullerton before going on to transfer to Moorpark College where he was named First Team All-Western State Conference and has since been inducted into the Moorpark College Athletic Hall of Fame. Kapler went on to be drafted by the Detroit Tigers of the MLB draft and since then, he has gone on to play for numerous teams which include Texas Rangers, Colorado Rockies, Boston Red Sox, Milwaukee Brewers, Tampa Bay Rays, and Yomiuri Giants of the Nippon Professional Baseball league. During his time with the Red Sox, Kapler helped them to win the World Series championship. After retiring from the MLB, Kapler finished his career with a .268 batting average, 82 home runs, 386 runs and batted in. He has gone on to be a manager for the Philadelphia Phillies before joining the Giants. He has also previously been a coach for the Israeli national baseball team and Director of Player Development for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
