Ginny Badanes

Ginny Badanes holds the position of General Manager for Democracy Forward at Microsoft, a role that sees her address challenges to global democracies. Her responsibilities include leading initiatives to protect elections, political parties, campaigns, and NGOs from cyber-enabled threats. Badanes also works to improve the information ecosystem by combating disinformation, broadening news distribution, enhancing media literacy, and fostering collaborations with community-based programs and newsrooms.

Prior to her work at Microsoft, Badanes served as Vice President of Political Services at CMDI. This role allowed her to advise presidential and senate campaigns on leveraging data and technology for finance and treasury operations. As a strategic adviser and Director of Strategic Projects at Microsoft, Badanes honed her strategic planning and implementation skills. Her contributions were recognized by Washingtonian's "Most Influential People" list for national security and defense in 2021 and 2022.

She is a board member of All In Together and an advisory board member of Duke University's Women's Impact Network. She has shared her insights as a speaker at the Aspen Ideas Festival. A graduate of Duke University, Badanes continues to make significant strides in her career while using her platform to effect positive change in the democratic process.
