Hailey Hardcastle

Hailey Hardcastle is a Gen-Z mental health advocate whose work is transforming how we approach youth mental well-being. Drawing on her lived experiences and expertise in grassroots organizing, Hardcastle has become a leading voice in the movement for improved mental health resources in schools.

At the forefront of her advocacy is her role in passing a landmark law in Oregon, which allows students to take mental health days off from school. This pioneering legislation has since inspired similar policies in 12 states across the U.S. In recognition of this work, Hardcastle was honored by Teen Vogue as one of the “21 Under 21 Young Women Changing the World.” Her TED Talk, “Why Students Should Have Mental Health Days,” has garnered over 4 million views, amplifying her message to a global audience.

In her current role, Hardcastle collaborates with nonprofits and startups to create innovative solutions that support youth mental health. As the leader of the advocacy program at Girls Inc. of the Pacific Northwest, she is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of advocates, ensuring that the movement for mental health continues to thrive and evolve.
