Haroon Moghul

Haroon Moghul is a teacher, a writer, a poet, and a one-time stand-up comic (literally, just that one time). He empowers leaders, grows communities, and builds institutions by helping people of all ages and backgrounds approach life’s most important questions. He's the Director of Strategy at The Concordia Forum, a global network of senior leaders dedicated to pluralism, dialogue, and shared success through service. A historian and occasional preacher, he is also the author of several books, including "How to be a Muslim: An American Story" and "Two Billion Caliphs: A Vision of a Muslim Future."

An award-winning journalist, Moghul's essays have been published by The New York Times, NPR’s Fresh Air, CNN, NBC News, The Washington Post, The Guardian, and many more. He has appeared on all major US news networks as an expert commentator on politics, strategy, history, and trends in international relations. A graduate of Columbia University, where he studied philosophy, theology, global trade, and the ideas that make our world, he's taught at prestigious universities, conferences, libraries, and houses of worship across the world.

In 2023, EqualityX named him one of the fifty most influential Muslims in the Americas. He lives with his wife, kids, and cats in Cincinnati, where he teaches middle and high schoolers, builds arts and cultural programs, consults with leading nonprofits, and connects diverse communities.
