Henry Cho Biography
Henry Cho is a veteran stand-up comedian born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee.
With a career spanning back to 1986, Cho built his act around clean, family-friendly comedy — often drawing on his experience growing up as a Korean American in the South. Over decades he’s made audiences laugh on television (including appearances on "The Tonight Show," "The Late, Late Show" and NBC’s "Young Comedians Special"), hosted NBC’s "Friday Night Videos" for two years, and toured the country in comedy clubs, theaters, and concert venues.
On film, Cho has appeared in movies like "McHale's Navy," "Say It Isn't So" and "Material Girls." He also created, co-wrote, and co-produced his own show — "The Henry Cho Show" on GAC.
In February 2023, Cho was inducted as the 229th member of Grand Ole Opry — the first comedian to receive that honor since 1973, and the first Asian-American invited to become a member. He first made his Opry debut in 2011 and performed there over 100 times.
Through his blend of Southern charm, cross-cultural storytelling, and clean humor, Cho stands out as a trailblazing and versatile comedian whose influence spans stand-up, television, film, and country-music culture.
