Howard A. Tullman

Howard A. Tullman is the Executive Director of the Ed Kaplan Family Institute for Innovation and Tech Entrepreneurship at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Tullman is the former CEO of "1871" – where digital startups get their start. He is the General Managing Partner of G2T3V, LLC and of Chicago High Tech Investment Partners, which are Chicago-based early-stage venture funds. He has also served on Mayor Emanuel’s Chicago NEXT and Cultural Affairs Councils; the Innovate Illinois Advisory and Arts Councils; and remains an active advisor to numerous startups. Tullman was the former CEO of Tribeca Flashpoint College and Kendall College. With over 50 years of experience, he has founded more than a dozen high-tech companies and is known for his extensive work in entrepreneurship, change management, and disruptive innovation.

Additionally, Tullman teaches an MBA class titled "Start-Ups: Start to Finish" and lectures regularly at the Kellogg School of Management on topics such as venturing, change management, innovation, and entrepreneurship. He has also taught internationally in Executive Management Programs based in Hong Kong and Tel Aviv. Tullman’s engaging and energetic speaking style, combined with his expertise, makes him a sought-after speaker across various platforms and audiences including universities, businesses, and industry conferences.

Tullman continues to contribute to the field through his weekly online column for INC. Magazine and has authored over 30 books, including "The Perspiration Principles." He is an active board member for several tech startups, emphasizing the importance of innovation, effective collaboration between corporations and startups, and the cultural and economic benefits of diversity and inclusion in the tech industry. Tullman travels from Illinois for speaking engagements, offering keynote speeches, panel discussions, and Q&A sessions that can be customized to meet the needs of different events and audiences.
