J. M.H. Schwanke

J Schwanke began his floral career at birth during a floral convention in Nebraska. He graduated from Midland College with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing as well as Public Relations. As a teen-ager, J trained for his career in flowers at the Cliff Mann School of Floral Technology in Denver Colorado and the Phil Rulloda School of Advance Floral Design in Phoenix Arizona.

Schwanke joined his family’s floral business, Green’s Greenhouses Inc. in 1976 and directed the firm’s operations from 1981 through 1994 where consumer sales reached an all time high of over one million dollars. Greens are a highly respected and well-recognized firm throughout the floral industry. The family operation has been a member of the Society of American Florists since the early 1900’s, a member of FTD since 1919 and a member of Teleflora since the brand was established.

Schwanke moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1994 to begin an independent career as a floral marketing consultant and industry spokesperson. Among his first floral industry clients Schwanke consulted and initiated product development for The Heeney Company, The Dallas Market Center, Cowee Pick Company and The John Henry Company.

J’s outstanding presentation and speaking skills quickly propelled him into a full time position as a marketing consultant and promotions expert for many resourceful floral industry leaders. Schwanke became a spokes person, Ambassador, Design Director Emeritus for the Smithers Oasis Company in Kent Ohio, as well as promotion specialist for the John Henry Company. Schwanke also began consultation and marketing promotion for Design Master Color Tool.

Schwanke continues his well respected and successful consulting and marketing career today in Grand Rapids Michigan with his company JMHS Enterprises Inc. JMHS Enterprises consults, develops creative products and marketing plans, guides trend forecasting and produces educational videos, Curriculum and classes to advance education and profits in all facets of the floral industry.

JMHS Enterprises also provides direct follow-up one on one customer service and care (troubleshooting) for Customer Service representative of leading Floral Industry manufactures and distributors. Similar professional education and training services are provided for Territory Managers, Key Account Managers and Telesales representatives for the same client base throughout the Floral Industry.

The Floral University Network with J Schwanke is the latest brainchild of JMHS Enterprises. A traveling one day intense training “boot camp” for florists throughout the United States and Canada specializing in Weddings, Sympathy Sales, Holiday Preparation, Color and Marketing.

Schwanke currently is the Promotion and Marketing Expert for FloraCraft and the John Henry Company. J is a marketing specialist and design affiliate for Acolyte Industries. Inc., Design Master Color Tool, and WJ Cowee LLC. He is the Floral Industry Spokesperson for Eufloria Flowers who grow the Prettiest Roses on the Planet. J is also serving as the Design Expert and National Spokesperson for the Holiday and Home Expo for AFIA and The Dallas Market Center.

J is the first 3rd Generation American Academy of Floriculture Member, (following his Grandfather Carnation Joe Green and Mother and Father; Mel and Joey Schwanke). He is member of the American Institute of Floral Designers, and has held numerous leadership positions with them for over 10 years. J is the only 2nd generation Professional Floral Communicator International following his mother Joey Schwanke, aaf, PFCI.

Schwanke’s industrious reputation in the floral industry is far reaching. He has performed floral demonstrations and marketing presentations in every state in the union. Critics, sponsors and attendees agree J Schwanke is one of the most sought after motivational presenters and floral educators in the entire industry. Schwanke has presented at countless Associations, Wholesale Operations, National Markets, and conventions throughout his successful career in the floral industry.
