Jay Cost Biography
Jay Cost is a conservative political historian, journalist, and elections analyst, who writes for The Weekly Standard and National Review. Cost currently serves as a part-time professor at Robert Morris University.
Previously, Cost wrote "HorseRaceBlog" at RealClearPolitics. He has written widely on the Founding and civic virtues, political parties, and the influence of big business in American politics, and is the author of the book The Price of Greatness: Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and the Creation of American Oligarchy as well as A Republic No More: Big Government and the Rise of American Political Corruption.
He received a B.A. with High Distinction in government and history from the University of Virginia and an M.A. in political science from the University of Chicago. He resides in Pennsylvania with his wife and two children.
