Jay Severin

Severin currently hosts Boston/New England's top-rated afternoon talk radio program, "Extreme Games" on WTKK 96.9 FM Talk. His previous, extensive media work includes Political Analyst for MSNBC News, guest Correspondent for BBC Television, and advisor to the United States Information Agency. He was also a featured columnist for Newsweek and MSNBC.com, for which he received the first-ever, "Pulitzer Prize of Web journalism" awarded by the Columbia School of Journalism.

Severin is author of editorials in The New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, and The Boston Globe. His comments on politics have appeared regularly in national media such as The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Time Magazine; and he has made frequent television appearances on CBS, ABC (Nightline), NBC (interviewed by Tom Brokaw), CNN, PBS, and Fox. Recently, he was nominated for the 2004 Marconi Awards-the equivalent of the Oscars in radio.

Don Imus has Severin as a weekly guest on his nationally syndicated radio show, "Imus in the Morning" and has been quoted as saying, "Jay Severin is the next big thing in syndicated radio."

A native New Yorker and graduate of Vassar College, Severin was a prot‚g‚ of 60s/70s radicals Abbie Hoffman and Jerry Rubin, and was active in the civil rights and anti-war movement. Following a graduate degree in journalism, Severin began a prominent career as a national political advisor to public officials and candidates in campaigns in 35 states for US House, Senate, Governor, and President.
