Jazz Jennings

Jazz Jennings is an American television personality, LGBTQ+ rights activist, transgender woman, and author. She first gained national attention in 2007 when she was interviewed by Barbara Walters on “20/20,” becoming one of the youngest publicly documented people to be identified as transgender. Born in 2000, Jazz has been a strong advocate for transgender youth, sharing her journey and experiences from a young age to raise awareness about gender identity and transgender issues.

She is the star of the TLC reality series “I Am Jazz,” which debuted in 2015 and chronicles her life as a transgender teenager navigating typical coming-of-age experiences while also dealing with the unique challenges that come with being transgender. The show has been instrumental in breaking down barriers and increasing understanding of transgender people, especially young individuals.

In addition to her work on television, Jazz Jennings is an author and has written a memoir titled “Being Jazz: My Life as a (Transgender) Teen,” as well as a children's book called “I Am Jazz.” Both books reflect her advocacy and aim to provide representation and support for transgender youth and their families.
