Jeanne Tripplehorn

Jeanne Tripplehorn is an accomplished actress known for her versatile performances across film, television, and stage. She embarked on her acting career after studying at the Juilliard School in New York City. Her early work in the theater, including a notable performance in John Patrick Shanley's "The Big Funk," paved the way for her transition to screen acting.

In film, Tripplehorn's breakthrough role came in 1992 when she starred as a police psychologist opposite Michael Douglas and Sharon Stone in the provocative thriller "Basic Instinct." She followed this success with roles in high-profile films such as: "The Firm," starring alongside Tom Cruise; "Waterworld," opposite Kevin Costner; and "Sliding Doors" with Gwyneth Paltrow.

Tripplehorn has also had significant roles on television. She received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for her performance as Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in the 2009 HBO movie "Grey Gardens." She starred as Barbara Henrickson in the acclaimed HBO series "Big Love," a role that allowed her to explore the intricacies of a woman in a polygamous marriage. Tripplehorn also joined the cast of the popular procedural drama "Criminal Minds" in its eighth season, portraying Alex Blake, a linguistics expert and FBI agent.
