Jeff Kaplan

Jeffrey Kaplan is a cloud computing expert, technology consultant, and industry speaker.

Kaplan founded THINKstrategies in 2001 to focus on the business implications of new 'on-demand' services, such as Cloud Computing, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and Managed Services on IT, Big Data, and the Internet of Things (IoT). THINKstrategies helps enterprises with sourcing decisions; software & IT solution providers, startups and established vendors with their go-to-market strategies, and VCs with investment decisions.

Kaplan also founded and administers the Cloud Computing Showplace, which is the largest vendor-independent online directory of Cloud solutions and best practices.

Kaplan hosts the Cloud Innovators Summit series of peer-to-peer executive forums, including the Cloud Analytics Summit and Cloud Channel Summit.

Kaplan is a former senior analyst and research director at IDC, Dataquest and META Group; Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at InterOPS Management Solutions; and Director of Strategic Marketing at International Network Services.

Jeff Kaplan is also a frequent speaker at industry conferences and contributing columnist for BusinessWeek, Mass High Tech Journal, Financial Times of London, NetworkWorld, Business Communications Review, ComputerWorld, InfoWorld, InformationWeek, and others on topics including SaaS, cloud computing, managed services, outsourcing, IT operations and service level management (SLM).

Jeff Kaplan has a BA in Urban Planning from Rutgers University and MBA from Boston College.
