Before joining Hearst, Rossen spent more than a decade as NBC News’ lead consumer investigative correspondent. Rossen contributed to all NBC properties, including “TODAY,” “NBC Nightly News,” and “Dateline NBC,” and the network’s digital platform. In addition, Rossen regularly hosted NBC’s TODAY Show.

Since joining NBC News, Rossen has conducted several news-making interviews. In February 2011, he landed a worldwide exclusive interview with actor Charlie Sheen during his very public dispute with his former bosses over the hit show Two and a Half Men. In an exclusive February 2009 interview, Rossen spoke with the owner of “Travis the Chimp” in the Connecticut Chimp Attack. It would be the only interview she ever granted. During his time at NBC News, Rossen has also covered countless headlining stories, including the 2014 Oscar Pistorius murder trial in South Africa, the 2009 David Goldman kidnapping case, the death of Michael Jackson, and the investigation into Whitney Houston’s death.
Previously, Rossen was an anchor and reporter for WABC-TV in New York City. During his seven years at WABC, Rossen covered the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center, the 2012 New York City Olympic Bid in Singapore, the 2005 London terrorist bombings, and the 2004 passing of President Ronald Reagan, among others. He hosted a weekly segment on Eyewitness News called “What’s Bugging You?” In 2007, Rossen began reporting for ABC News Magazines, debuting on ABC’s i-Caught.
Rossen began his broadcasting career in radio at WBLI-FM on Long Island, New York. He made the transition from radio to local television as a reporter for ABC affiliate WUTR-TV in Utica, New York. Rossen then moved on to report for ABC affiliate WIXT-TV in Syracuse, New York, followed by Fox affiliate WJBK-TV in Detroit, Michigan before joining WABC-TV in May 2001.
Rossen is a graduate of the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. He lives in New York with his wife and children.
