Jesse Andrews

Jesse Andrews, a novelist and screenwriter, made his mark in the literary and film industry with his novel "Me and Earl and the Dying Girl," which he later adapted into a screenplay. The film iteration of his work was celebrated at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival where it was awarded the Audience Award and the Grand Jury Prize. In addition to his initial success, Andrews received the 2012 Cybils Award for Young Adult Fiction for the same novel, affirming his ability to connect with and captivate a diverse audience.

Andrews expanded his repertoire by co-writing the screenplay for the Pixar film "Luca" and is currently working on the screenplay for another Pixar project, "Hoppers," scheduled for release in 2026. His book "The Haters," published in 2016, later sparked controversy when it was banned by the Alpine School District in Utah in 2022 under the law H.B. 374.
