Jill Buck

Jill Buck is a business leader, founder, radio host, and sustainability expert. In 2002, Buck founded the Go Green Initiative, a 501(c)(3) organization that is the global leader in environmental education, operating in all 50 U.S. states, 73 countries, and on 5 continents. The program has been endorsed by the National School Boards Association (NSBA), National Recycling Coalition, 9 State PTA’s, California Integrated Waste Management Board, California Resource Recovery Association, and many more. Jill serves on the editorial board of the Green Schools National Network’s quarterly publication, Catalyst Magazine. She is also the host of Go Green Radio on VoiceAmerica.com.

In 2004, Buck founded Buck Consulting, which helps businesses achieve profitability through sustainability. She teaches business leaders how to quantify ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives in order to meet reporting standards for third party ratings like the Global Reporting Initiative, as well as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index and the NASDAQ Global Sustainability Index. Buck’s proven techniques help businesses drive revenue up and costs down through environmentally responsible business practices, and her training is applicable across all industry sectors. She specializes in developing sustainability procedures for companies, including increasing logistics efficiency, decreasing packaging costs, minimizing pollution, and measuring carbon footprints. She also trains groups on creating sustainable business operations that are measurable and manageable.

Buck is a global thought leader in sustainable business systems. She has been an international featured speaker at business, public policy, political, and environmental conventions for over a decade, including prestigious TEDx events such as "How Teens Can Combat Climate Change" at TEDxAmadorValleyHigh and TEDxHonolulu. She has been featured in publications such as U.S. Mayor, Working Mother Magazine, Women’s Health Magazine, Ebony Magazine, and Diablo Magazine’s “Women to Watch”. Buck is an alumna of the University of Illinois with a B.A. in English and holds an M.S. in Education from California State East Bay. Following her education, she was commissioned a U.S. Naval Officer and served at the Fleet Training Center, San Diego, in various capacities including Legal, Physical Security, Admin, and Command Inspection Officer, as well as a Damage Control Instructor.
