Joseph Grenny

Joseph Grenny is a co-founder and former president of California Computer Corporation. In 1990, he co-founded VitalSmarts, which has become a globally respected corporate training and organizational development company. VitalSmarts serves clients that include 300 of the Fortune 500 companies and boasts over 10,000 trainers worldwide. Recognized for its growth and impact, it was named the 2008 Business of the Year by The Association of Learning Providers and has been listed four times by Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest-growing companies in America. Grenny's research through VitalSmarts has reached over two million people globally.

Grenny is the author of eight books, including the New York Times bestsellers "Crucial Conversations," "Crucial Accountability," "Influencer," and "Change Anything." These publications are essential resources in various academic and professional settings, with over six million copies sold worldwide. In 2007, Grenny and his co-authors were honored as Ernst & Young Entrepreneurs of the Year for their significant contributions through VitalSmarts.

In addition to his contributions in the corporate training sector, Grenny is the Chairman of the Board and a co-founder of Unitus Labs, a 501(c)(3) non-profit focused on reducing global poverty through economic self-empowerment. The Unitus group of companies has effectively mobilized over $1 billion globally, reaching over 20 million individuals in need.

In 2015, Grenny, alongside his wife, Celia, and a dedicated team, established the first campus of The Other Side Academy (TOSA) in Utah. This initiative offers transformative opportunities for individuals struggling with addiction, criminal behavior, and homelessness. TOSA has expanded to include campuses in Pennsylvania, Iowa, and Denver, revolutionizing transparency and efficacy in the rehabilitation industry. Building on this model, Grenny and his team launched The Other Side Village in 2021, aiming to provide a self-reliant community for 400-500 chronically unsheltered individuals.

Grenny studied at Brigham Young University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations. His continued dedication to social change and leadership is evident in both his academic pursuits and his professional achievements.
