Declared “the single most important figure on the Latin music scene” by the Los Angeles Times, JUANES is a SEVENTEEN-TIME LATIN GRAMMY WINNER who TIME Magazine selected as “One of the 100 Most Influential People in the World.” The top- selling Latin rock artist in the world and the genre’s leading social activist, Juanes’ multi- platinum breakthrough album Un Dia Normal set the record for the longest Top-10 chart run in Latin music history. Likewise also notching an astounding two-year chart run, The Colombian superstar’s critically acclaimed follow-up Mi Sangre (My Blood) sold over 4 million copies while bringing Juanes to #1 on the charts throughout Latin America, The U.S. and across Europe. The corresponding “Mi Sangre Tour” was the most extensive worldwide tour ever mounted by a Latin artist, with 170 concerts performed before millions of fans at arenas and stadiums in 31 countries on four continents. Juanes’ fourth album “La Vida Es Un Ratico” was released October 23, 2007 in over 77 countries worldwide and has topped the Latin Billboard charts since its release. In 2008, JUANES hit the road in support of his new album, “La Vida Es Un Ratico.” Both the U.S. & European legs of this highly-anticipated tour were a huge success. For the 2008 MTV Latin America VMA’s he topped the list of nominations with seven nominations and brought home four awards including Artist of the Year and Song of the Year. JUANES also dominated the 2008 Latin Grammy Awards sweeping all five categories in which he was nominated. His awards included Record of the Year and Album of the Year, plus Song of the Year. The awards bring his career Latin Grammy wins 17, making him the most Latin-Grammy decorated artist in history. He received a 2009 Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album and he received five Premio Lo Nuestro nominations tying him as the leading nominee of the entire show.
