Kelly Leonard Biography
Kelly Leonard is the Executive Vice President of The Second City and The President of Second City Theatricals. He has been part of The Second City since 1988, where he has played a pivotal role in overseeing productions featuring prominent performers such as Stephen Colbert, Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Adam McKay, Seth Meyers, Rachel Dratch, Amy Poehler, Jason Sudeikis, Keegan Michael Key, and Amy Sedaris. Leonard also co-founded Second City Theatricals, which specializes in creating diverse live entertainment globally.
Leonard has significantly contributed to The Second City's expansion, including brokering a deal to feature the company on six Norwegian Cruise Line ships, where full-time ensembles perform consistently. He also authored the book "Yes, And: Lessons from The Second City," which has been recognized on the Washington Post Bestseller List, reflecting his deep understanding and expertise in improvisational theater.
In addition to his executive roles, Leonard actively delivers keynote programs such as the "Yes, And" Keynote, "Yes, And" The Improve Toolkit, and "Yes, And" Immersion, focusing on the application of improvisational skills in the workplace. He resides in Chicago with his wife Anne Libera and their children, Nick and Nora.
