Kendrick Sampson

Kendrick Sampson is an actor and activist who leverages his platform and storytelling to shift culture for good. Growing up in the suburbs of Houston, Texas, Sampson gravitated to the arts and sought to create nuanced portrayals of people of color in his projects. Sampson is best known for his roles in the "Vampire Diaries," "How to Get Away with Murder," "White Famous," "Supernatural," "The Flash" and HBO’s critically acclaimed series "Insecure."

In addition to his on-screen work, Sampson uses his platform to amplify transformational grassroots work in intersectional mental health justice, the criminal legal system, and immigration. He has been a very active participant in many social justice campaigns, including #SchoolsNotPrisons, Standing Rock, and Black Lives Matter. His radical and unapologetic approach to activism aims to challenge others to liberate the oppressed and protect the most vulnerable in our communities.

After seeing a surge of enthusiasm in activism from other influencers, Sampson co-founded the BLD PWR initiative to build authentic and active relationships connecting his industry to the organizers that do the most urgent and transformational work. Sampson strives to build a community of freedom fighters in the entertainment industry — liberation-motivated artists, storytellers, athletes, and musicians.
