Kenneth Feinberg

Kenneth Feinberg is an experienced mediator and managing partner of Feinberg Rozen, LLP, with offices in Washington, DC and New York City. Feinberg has held significant roles in managing major compensation funds, including serving as the administrator of the Gulf Coast Claims Facility following the April 2010 oil rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico, a position he held from 2010 to March 2012. He served as the Special Master for TARP Executive Compensation from 2009 to 2010 and managed the claims process for the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund after the Virginia Tech University shootings in 2007.

Feinberg has also served as Special Master of the Federal September 11th Victim Compensation Fund of 2001, an appointment made shortly after the September 11 attacks. This fund, established by Congress, aimed to compensate families who lost loved ones and survivors who were physically injured in the attacks. Feinberg's dedicated efforts over three years resulted in over 97% of eligible families participating in the program. Additionally, he has acted as a court-appointed special master in numerous other significant cases, including the Agent Orange Victim Compensation Program.

Currently, Feinberg is also the Administrator of the GM Ignition Compensation Claims Resolution Facility. Beyond his administrative duties, he is an adjunct professor of law at New York University School of Law, Columbia University Law School, and the Georgetown University Law Center. He has authored books on his experiences, including "What Is Life Worth?: The Inside Story of the 9/11 Fund and Its Effort to Compensate the Victims of September 11th" and "Who Gets What: Fair Compensation after Tragedy and Financial Upheaval." Additionally, Feinberg contributes to the field of law and justice as a member of the Board of the RAND Institute of Civil Justice and the Board of Human Rights First.
