Kenneth L. Davis

Dr. Kenneth L. Davis is a leading neurobiologist and an executive vice chairman of the board of trustees at the Mount Sinai Health System in New York City. His extensive career in the medical field includes roles such as the chief of psychiatry at Bronx Veteran's Affairs Medical Center, the first director of its Schizophrenia Biological Research Center, and the chairman of psychiatry at Mount Sinai School of Medicine from 1987 until 2003. He also served as the dean of Mount Sinai School of Medicine from 2003 to 2007, and was appointed as the president and CEO of Mount Sinai Medical Center in 2003.

Dr. Davis has made significant contributions to the field of medical research, particularly in the areas of Alzheimer's disease and schizophrenia. He developed the Alzheimer's Disease Assessment Scale, a widely used tool for testing the efficacy of Alzheimer's treatments. His research led to the approval of four of the first five FDA-approved drugs for Alzheimer's. Dr. Davis's work on Alzheimer's and schizophrenia has been published in numerous respected medical journals, and he has authored several books, including "Alzheimer's Disease: Questions and Answers" and "Brain Acetylcholine and Neuropsychiatric Disease."

In addition to his medical research, Dr. Davis has held various leadership positions. He's a trustee of the New York Academy of Medicine and the Aspen Institute and has served as the chairman of the board of governors for the Greater New York Hospital Association. His leadership and contributions to the medical field earned him the George H. W. Bush Lifetime of Leadership Award. He graduated magna cum laude from Yale College and received his M.D. from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where he was valedictorian of the second graduating class.
