Kenny Fame is a New York City–based singer-songwriter, award-winning filmmaker, lyricist, poet, and performer known for a naturally poetic lyrical style that is both meaningful and relatable. His music blends R&B and spoken word with soulful, neo-soul sensibilities shaped by the dynamic influences of the 70s and 80s, resulting in a distinctive sound that leaves a lasting impression.
Born in New Jersey, raised in Brooklyn, HBCU-educated, and now based in Harlem, Fame grew up surrounded by a wide range of musical influences. While rooted in neo-soul, his work often incorporates elements of alternative and indie rock, reggae, and jazz. His album Young, Gifted & Black reflects this eclecticism, blending soul, spoken word, jazz, reggae, and Afro-pop into an alternative R&B sound.
Fame has earned international recognition for his music, including numerous awards for the song “Friends,” which has won multiple film festival honors for Best Soundtrack and Best Score.
