Kim Geddie

Kim Geddie is one of the nation’s outstanding professional development consultants who is passionate about providing highly effective strategies and activities that help educators improve student success in and out of the classroom. She is an international professional development consultant for Successful Connections, Staff Development for Educators, Phi Delta Kappa International, and Catapult Learning, where she continuously provides customized training through keynotes and workshops for international, national, state, regional, district, public and private educational organizations.

Geddie utilizes her experiences in education since 1988 to customize interactive professional development for specific needs and goals. She draws upon her experiences as a teacher of primary, intermediate, secondary, and fine arts classes, and as an administrator for her practical presentations. Participants appreciate Geddie’s sense of humor and her proven solutions to the problems that challenge classroom teachers. Geddie specializes in providing realistic strategies and activities that are high impact, low preparation, and effective in reaching all types of learners.

Her presentations cover a wide range of topics, including differentiated instruction, critical thinking, state standards, engaging all learners, assessment-driven instruction, literacy strategies, struggling readers and writers, and strategies for ESE, ADHD, gifted, ESL/ELL students. Geddie played a key role in helping Texas teachers align their curriculum with state standards when the standards-based approach and backward design first emerged. She has since provided customized professional development nationally and internationally, assisting organizations with implementing state and Common Core standards. A coauthor of The Write Connection, which integrates the writing process, six traits of writing, and a standards-based approach, Geddie continues to inspire individuals and teams to boost their productivity and achievement.
