Kurt Loder

Author, journalist, and former MTV News anchor Kurt Loder was for 10 years the host and writer of the weekly MTV News show, "The Week in Rock." Throughout his career, he has conducted interviews with a wide range of notable figures including David Bowie, Mick Jagger, and directors Quentin Tarantino and John Waters. He continues to write a weekly movie-review column titled "Kurt Loder on Film" for MTV.com, where he also conducts regular video and written interviews with esteemed filmmakers such as George Miller, David Lynch, Darren Aronofsky, and David Fincher. Loder is a Contributing Editor for "Rolling Stone" and formerly served as a Senior Editor for the publication.

Loder is the author of the New York Times best-selling Tina Turner autobiography, "I, Tina," and has published a collection of his work from "Rolling Stone" titled "Bat Chain Puller." His extensive writing career also includes contributing to publications such as "Esquire," "New York," and "Time," as well as writing liner notes for box-set compilations by artists such as Led Zeppelin and David Bowie. He is a member of New York Film Critics Online and continues to contribute occasional music reviews for the indie download site, Emusic.com.

A native of New Jersey, Loder spent many years living and working in Europe before settling in Manhattan. He is currently working on a memoir, reflecting on his expansive career in journalism and the entertainment industry.
