Lauren Manning

Lauren Manning is a former Managing Director and Partner at Cantor Fitzgerald, where she headed the Global Market Data division. Her resilience in overcoming severe injuries from the September 11th attacks has been widely covered, with appearances on "The Oprah Winfrey Show", "The NBC Today Show", and CNN. Her story graced the front page of "The New York Times", "Readers Digest", and was featured in "Vogue Magazine". Her recovery journey was central to both her husband Greg Manning’s memoir, "Love, Greg & Lauren", and her own memoir, "Unmeasured Strength", both New York Times bestsellers. Recognized globally as a symbol of hope and courage, many people facing injury, illness, or tragedy have drawn inspiration from her story.

Manning was named a Glamour Woman of the Year and was recognized as one of CNN’s most intriguing newsmakers of their first 25 years. Beyond her well-documented recovery and advocacy, Manning is a managing director at Golden Seeds, an investment firm focusing on early-stage female entrepreneurs. She holds an MS in Narrative Medicine from Columbia University and is currently writing "Ricochet: Patients and their Clinicians, Unintended Victims in the Friendly Fire of American Healthcare Reform". She is also the executive director and co-founder of Narrative Mindworks, The International Narrative Practices Association.
