Len Berman

Len Berman is an Emmy-Award winning broadcaster with a distinguished career spanning over five decades in which he has covered numerous major sports events, including multiple Super Bowls, World Series, and Olympics. He is recognized not only for his broadcasting talents but also as a New York Times Best Selling Author.

He created "Spanning the World," a beloved monthly segment featuring sports bloopers that aired on NBC’s "Today Show" for 25 years, and "Sports Fantasy," a unique show on NBC where fans competed against sports stars. His contribution to sports media extends beyond these creations; he has also offered insightful coverage as a sports correspondent for the "Today Show."

Beginning his tenure at NBC Sports in 1982, Berman hosted significant events such as a Super Bowl and a World Series. He served as a sports anchor for WNBC-TV, earning eight Emmy Awards and was named New York Sportscaster of the Year six times. His earlier roles included broadcasting positions in Dayton, Ohio, and Boston, where he notably called Celtics games alongside Bob Cousy. His voice also brought to life the Big East Basketball Conference during its formative years from 1980 to 1986.

An accomplished author, Berman has penned several books, including "The Greatest Moments in Sports," which debuted on the New York Times Best Seller List, and other popular titles like "Spanning The World," "Nobody Got Hurt!," and "And Nobody Got Hurt 2!" His works cater to a diverse audience, ranging from young readers to sports enthusiasts.

Currently, he co-hosts “Len Berman and Michael Riedel in the Morning” on 710 WOR Radio in New York City. A native of New York, Berman is a proud alumnus of Syracuse University, where he began his broadcasting journey at WAER Radio, and later earned a Master's Degree from the Newhouse School.

His remarkable contributions to broadcasting have been recognized with inductions into the New York State Broadcasters Hall of Fame and the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame, among others.

Berman resides on Long Island with his wife, Jill, and their three children, continuing to be a vital voice in sports journalism and broadcasting.
